JOY

Joy is a great force; it helps to do away with doubt. There is a difference between Joy and Laughter. One can laugh without feeling joy; but given laughter, a sufficient amount of it, and one begins to feel joy. Joy grows and grows. Laughter helps in that growth. It helps to clear away doubt. Doubt is like dust. It comes without one's seeing its arrival. It is very subtle too, this doubt. You may think you have gotten rid of it, and then there it is back like a "peeping tom" ready to see just a part and then to reach a conclusion. Doubt is so very strong, that sometimes when it does appear, the mind is taken over by it and is covered with it. Joy and laughter are gone for the time being, but their influence, though faint, is never lost. The next time, doubt will not be able to cover all the mind, and let it recur often enough, the part of the mind that is free can cast it off.

FEAR

Remember that fear has deep roots with many fronts -- want, loneliness, growing old., loss of health -- all these are present in your subconscious and can be set off by the little things that happen in every day life. Learn to say each morning as you awake, "I have no fear today". This is important; you are cleaning up your mind by this. Do it daily first thing before you leave your bed. While you sleep, We guard you and are about you, looking on you with love. Learn to think of Us this way as you lie ready for sleep - not individual spirits but All of Us, like a soft covering for you.

FREEDOM

A souls is free when it is a part of Our Essence. Freedom means nothing to hold back to hider, to bind, to keep in line, to thwart, to mold -- nothing to top. Again worlds limit, but once a soul begins to feel a little freedom to expand, it grows. As soon as this individual soul begins to have faint stirrings, there are material forces to block it. When in spite of all this, it does keep on and feels a new wonder, it usually allows the mind to give the credit to some finite happening. This is unfortunate, for what really has taken place is that this freedom has begun to generate new thoughts, new desires, new life emphasis. We welcome this freedom and rejoice in it.

In 1939 the messages began...

Think of sunshine; it can be good or even bad, but it comes from one source, the sun. So these Rays; they come from a Spiritual Power that can reach souls ready to recognize them. These Rays do not shine on you ...they reach into your soul.

Each soul has a reservoir of courage. No soul ever uses up all his courage for courage generates a new supply. Think of all our courage as a deep well fed by an eternally fresh spring.

We are a force, a Ray, an Essence; We flow from here to you. We hope Our ideas will reach some timid believer and maybe some doubter. If We can help some timid soul to see the help and comfort We can bring to him, We will be happy.

You never die, as you use the word. That fear of death sends many to Us. They come to assure themselves that when the enter the Great Beyond, as they call it, they will be going to a familiar place...

Every soul has someone on earth it may wish to reach, to teach a new way of thinking about death. They also wish to tell the earthly ones of the freedom and joy they now know...
